What a great week we are having! The Koru Suite have had 2 hockey sessions where we learnt lots of skills and we were able to put these skills into a mini game situation. Monty said 'I really enjoyed hockey because I learnt new skills like tackling and how to stop the ball in different ways.' Cade said 'I love playing hockey and I play for a school team. These skill sessions have helped me to get even better.'

Footnote Dance
Today we had our first session with Footnote Dance. We were reminded about the elements of dance; strength, coordination, balance and flexibility. We danced by mirroring, shadowing, using different levels, turning, jumping, doing a cannon and many more techniques.
We created amazing dances and we were all amazing dancers. What fun we had with the Footnote dancers .We are going to have our next session on Friday, and we can't wait until then!

Area
We are having fun learning about perimeter and area in our maths time. As part of this learning we have made squares that have an area of 1 square metre. What a lot of different shapes we could make and what a lot of different ways we could work out the total amount of square metres.

Poppy Growing
We had to find the reason why poppies are sold on ANZAC Day. The red of the poppies is for the blood and the black is for the grief we feel because of the men and women who perished in the wars. The poppy is a symbol of remembrance. The poppies were found on Flanders Field in Belgium.
When we found out the true meaning of poppies we got to design our own pots and we used expanding soil to plant our seeds in. We will have to water them and give them sunlight so that they grow into poppy plants.

Cup cake Fundraiser
Thank you to all who supported our Young Leaders Cupcake Fundraiser. Wow what a phenomenal result. We raised $1156. Isn't that a fantastic effort?
We have had an interesting time counting the money today and once Room 39 have had their day next week we will let you know the final cost for the Conference.
Again thank you very very much.
