We are reading The Peco Incident by Des Hunt.
It is about two boys called Daniel and Nick. The scene is set in the Otago Peninsula. Daniel is smart and aware of his surroundings and consequences meanwhile Nick is well... Nick, he is quite silly but a very hilarious person. Peco ( Peninsula Egg Company ) Peco have lots of chooks and they are battery farmers and the chickens don't lay free range eggs, the chooks are dying and Nick thinks it's an alien killer virus from outer space!
We haven't read the entire book but we would rate it a ten out of ten because it's a funny but an interesting novel for ages seven to twelve.
